Insights / News and Opinion / Digital i wins the MRG Award for Best International Research
News and Opinion / 4th December 2020
The MRG award ceremony on the 3rd of December was not a typical award night. Sat on our computers, drinks at the ready, the Digital-i team waited nervously. As well as being anxious about somehow unmuting our microphones and unwittingly hijacking the ceremony, we also hoped that we’d manage to compete with the other all-star companies on the short lists. We hoped that we’d impress the Media Research Group judges enough to bag a prize.
Google took the first award for the Best Research Initiative, pipping us to the post. However, when the next award was announced we realised that we were now in the same list as companies like Google and PwC. We are the winners of an MRG Award for 2020.
The strength of the competition and the complexity of the other projects cements our position as trail-blazers in accurate, global SVOD measurement. In barely 18 months, we created SoDA, a complex SVOD tracking system and interactive dashboard that currently contains Amazon Prime viewing estimates from the UK and Netflix viewing estimates from 2017 onwards in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.
We’re not stopping here, we’re determined that the next 18 months will bring more territories and more platforms. We will continue to push until we can provide a second-to-none global deep-dive into SVOD viewing behaviours.
From all the team at Digital-i, we’d like to thank all of our partners, clients and prospective clients who have all contributed to the constant improvement and advance of SoDA. This seal of approval from the MRG judges will spur us on to keep expanding and improving the SoDA service.
